Christmas Eve

On the blackest night
Of winter
On Christmas eve
The stars shone
Bright in the sky
That was the day
You came back to me
Finally
After so long apart
Clumping through the snow
In your wellies
You sang me a love song
A stanza
A warrant of your love for me
We made a snowman
You kissed my frozen fingers
Warmed my cold lips
Sipping mulled wine
We decorated the Christmas tree
And remembered Jesus' birth
Placed a mince pie on the fireplace for santa
And then fell asleep
Bodies pressed together
Limbs entwined
Hopeful for the future.

Waiting for You

How is it that you love me?
You, an adventurer
Me, just an ordinary girl
I think of only you
When I see your picture
On my nightstand
My skewered heart throbs
Waiting for your return
For your kisses
Your scent
Your love
And your stories
Of Pirates and graves.
